TAMARACK

The last thing rising chemist and playboi lesbian JO MORGEN ever wanted to do was go back to her nowhere Northwoods hometown of Tamarack, Minnesota. Then her uncle Mike commits suicide, and she gets stuck with the will. Tamarack isn’t quite how she remembers it, though. With news of the U.S.’s first “green nickel” mine coming to town, everyone is acting strange - especially her family. Meanwhile, Ojibwe hydrologist DAWN PAYER returns to seek justice for her people post-Line 3 construction. But Enbridge isn’t the only thing standing in her way. She’s up against her toughest adversary yet: her own aunt, LOUISE PAYER, renowned activist and the most famous person who’s ever stopped at the SpeedyMart in McGregor. When Jo and Dawn finally meet on the Mississippi River, it’s instant chemistry - literally. But then JO gets offered $2 million dollars for her uncle’s land by FLYNN RUSSELL, a cowboy-obsessed Australian CEO here in Tamarack for one purpose: to make sure the mine goes through. Jo must decide, will she sell out quick or stick around and try to save her small town from itself? Things come to a head at Mike’s funeral, where secrets are exposed, lines drawn, and a larger chain of events set in motion. Will Tamarack become the next frontier of America’s Clean Energy Revolution? Or will it cause everyone to crash and burn?
