Small town tomboy teen, Josie Parker, is determined to create a better life for her and Jack, her neurodiverse brother, even if it means leaving the town that helped raise her. As Jack’s primary caregiver, she has both of their futures weighing on her shoulders.

When she discovers that financial assistance may come in the form of a sport she and her fishermen friends HATE, water skiing, she makes the difficult decision to join the team, despite the fact that they have not won a title since 1963. It is up to Josie to reignite the flame that once won national titles.

Lucky for Josie, the rich snowbirds come in every summer and happen to bring some serious 3 event water ski talent. While the chances of them competing at an elite level are slim, new talent matched with a slight fib, might be the key ingredients to returning the team to come close to what it once was.

As the team grows in skill and potential, Josie struggles to shake the nagging feeling that leaving behind Jack, who has been her shadow and best friend his whole life, might not be in his best interest. Not to mention, the fishermen rivalry over ‘rights of the lake’ and the neighboring feud with superior water ski team, Coopertown, the Mountain Lake Muskies have their work cut out for them.
